Every so often the esports section of Polymarket produces a small natural experiment. On the September 12 snapshot, three separate Counter-Strike best-of-three playoff books landed within four points of each other on the favourite side โ 55.5%, 57.4%, and 59.5%. Same game, same format, same rough implied edge.
And yet the three books look nothing alike underneath. One is churning eleven times its own posted depth. One hasn't moved a basis point since it opened. One repriced by nearly fourteen points on a book so thin you could walk through it. That divergence is the actual story, and it's a useful reminder that in any polymarket analysis, the headline percentage is the least informative number on the card.
