A Polymarket price is the market's implied chance: 60¢ means 60%, which pays $66.67 profit on a $100 stake if it wins and equals -150 in American odds or 1.67 in decimal odds. Taker fees raise the break-even point a little: at the 5% category rate a 50¢ share needs 51.25% to break even. The table below covers every common price; print it or keep it open while you trade.

Profit is before fees and assumes the share pays $1. Break-even adds Polymarket's taker fee (shares x rate x p x (1 - p)) at three category rates; maker orders and fee-free markets break even at the price itself. Current rates: Polymarket fees.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a Polymarket price to American odds?

Treat the price as the chance p. At 50¢ or more the odds are minus 100 x p / (1 - p): 75¢ is -300. Below 50¢ they are plus 100 x (1 - p) / p: 20¢ is +400. Decimal odds are 1 / p.

How much do I win on Polymarket?

Each share pays $1 if its outcome happens. A $100 stake at price p buys 100 / p shares, so the profit is 100 x (1 - p) / p: $100 at 25¢ wins $300, at 80¢ it wins $25, before fees.

How do fees change the break-even chance?

A taker pays shares x rate x p x (1 - p), so each share costs p x (1 + rate x (1 - p)). At the 7% crypto rate a 50¢ share needs 51.75% to break even; maker orders and fee-free markets pay nothing. Rates by category: see Polymarket fees on this site.
