In the US, sports fans have several CFTC-regulated options: Kalshi lists sports from soccer and basketball to cricket and MMA, with combos; Polymarket US offers game winners, spreads, totals, futures and player props in an iPhone app; and Novig is a sports-only exchange for users 21 and older that charges nothing on pre-game straight trades.[1][2][3][4][5][6] Crypto.com and Robinhood offer sports contracts inside their existing apps.[7][8] Some are blocked in some states: court orders keep Kalshi's sports contracts out of Nevada, Washington and Michigan and Polymarket's out of Nevada, and Novig is not offered in Arizona, Nevada or Michigan.[9][10][11][12][13] Outside the US, Betfair Exchange is a licensed betting exchange that charges commission on net winnings.[14][15]

Why it fits: Its public market list covers more than a dozen sports, from soccer and cricket to MMA and motorsport, with combos across events, and it accepts bank, card, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, crypto and wire deposits from $10.[1][2][18]
Watch out: Court orders keep its sports contracts out of Nevada, Washington and Michigan, and combo orders fill only if another trader quotes them.[9][10][11][2]

Best for: Game lines, player props and combos in a US app
Why it fits: Its sports FAQ documents each contract type, from spreads and totals to player props and futures, and how ties, overtime and cancellations settle; takers pay at most $1.74 per 100 contracts and makers earn a rebate.[3][25]
Watch out: It was an iPhone-only app in June 2026, and a Nevada court has barred Polymarket's sports contracts there.[4][12]

Best for: Pre-game trades with no fee, for fans 21 and older
Why it fits: It charges takers nothing on pre-game straight trades and never charges makers, and bank and crypto deposits are free.[6][28]
Watch out: You must be 21, it is not offered in Arizona, Nevada or Michigan, and live, futures and parlay trades do carry fees.[13][6]

Why it fits: Sports singles and combos trade on Crypto.com's own CFTC-regulated exchange, with the same taker formula as Kalshi and no fee at settlement.[7][33]
Watch out: It is US-only, it left Nevada in November 2025, and it has petitioned the US Supreme Court in its dispute with Nevada.[7][32][34]

Best for: Fans who already use Robinhood
Why it fits: Sports contracts sit next to your other Robinhood holdings, and the commission is capped at $0.01 per contract plus an exchange fee of up to $0.01.[8][35]
Watch out: Maryland residents cannot trade sports contracts, Nevada residents cannot open new ones, and Robinhood agreed to stop new sports contracts in Michigan in September 2026.[35][36]

Why it fits: It is a licensed betting exchange with rules for 23 sports and commission charged only on net winnings, 5% in the UK and Ireland.[40][14][41]
Watch out: It is closed to US customers and several countries, and heavy winners pay an Expert Fee of 20% or 40%.[39][42]

On an exchange such as Novig you buy and sell contracts with other traders at prices between $0 and $1, and you can sell before the game ends, instead of accepting fixed odds from a bookmaker. Novig also says its contracts are regulated federally by the CFTC rather than licensed state by state like sports betting.[5][13]
It depends on how you trade. On 100 contracts at 50 cents, Novig charges nothing on a pre-game straight trade and $0.75 live; Polymarket US charges takers $1.74 and pays makers a rebate; Kalshi and Crypto.com charge takers $1.75; Robinhood charges up to $2.00 including the exchange fee.[6][25][17][7][35]
